Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United America. In 2001, she launched The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the business to NRT for $66 millions. Shortly thereafter she resigned from the business. Corcoran was among the first Shark Tank investors. She was a regular on every episode of ABC's Shark Tank. She has been involved in 53 deals as of February, 2020. The most significant was a $350,000 investment to pay for 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 kids born to an Irish-Catholic couple working in the middle class living in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a skilled worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. Her family often depended on food delivery services for free from a local grocer. Corcoran claims that her father was drunk who was rude to her mother and disrespect. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education before discovering that she was dyslexic. Corcoran entered in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after attending a Catholic primary school. After failing several courses in her freshman year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and graduated as a D student.
