Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American producer, actress and director. Her role as the main character on TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most well-known. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The seventh season of the series ended on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick is also famous for her role in the show in the role of Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) as well as What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). She was also in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was one of the New York City native, the daughter Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), an educator and therapist for families as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI who was a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish, and her father was Episcopalian. Sedgwick was of English heritage. Sedgwick declares that she is Jewish and claims she goes to Passover seders.
